LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND.- The John Moores competition has changed its rules. The prize pays £25,000 to the winner, more than Turner's £20,000. Artists will not have to send works the size of billboards. Paintings had gotten bigger and bigger and the Walker Gallery had to hire a warehouse for the works. Now the prize is asking for 35mm slides of the works. The works will be judged by artists Fiona Rae and Jenny Saville, and by the artist, curator and critic Matthew Collings.
