LONDON, ENGLAND.- Celebrity photographer Rankin and artist Robert Silvers, who invented the technique of making photo mosaics, have together created what has been called the biggest digital photo image ever made. The work is made up of 40,000 individual tiles with photographs of 3,500 people. The image looks like it portrays 15 people when looked at from a distance. The image measures the size of two Olympic swimming pools and is wrapped around the Imax cinema of the British Film Institute. The work is titled "You Can" and was made by Canon with self-portraits by its employees. Rankin stated, "I was immediately excited by the photomosaic project as it helps take my work to a new dimension - in terms of creativity and size. We chose the ages of man concept as a theme as it allowed me to suggest that anyone, regardless of age, can realise their potential."
