EDINBURGH, UNITED KINGDOM.- The Inverleith House presents an exhibition on Ruth Vollmer, a sculptress, on view through May 5, 2002. She was a sister of the German conductor, musicologist, and editor Ludwig Landshoff (1874-1941). Ruth Vollmer died in January of 1982. This is the first-ever UK showing of works by an artist credited as inspiring the likes of Robert Smithson, Sol Le Witt and Eva Hesse. The German-born artist was deeply influenced by mathematical patterns in the natural world. The exhibition is supported by the Scottish Arts Council International Projects Grant.
