Poly Auction Hong Kong 2013 Spring Auction & Preview to be held from 3rd to 7th April

HONG KONG.- Poly Auction (Hong Kong) Limited will present the 2013 Spring Auction and Preview taking place from 3rd - 7th 2013, which is a significant millstone subsequent to its debut in Hong Kong and the successful Autumn Auction with remarkable results.

Encompassing over 1,000 lots, the auction features Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Jewels and Watches, Chinese Modern and Contemporary Art, and Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art, with a total estimate of over HK$400,000,000*. A public preview will take place at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong from 3rd - 6th April, while the Spring Auction is to under hammer at Renaissance Harbour View Hotel from 6 - 7 April. Other previews schedule: Beijing (16th - 17th March), Taiwan (23rd - 24th March) and Shenzhen (30th - 31st March).

At the same time, Poly Auction Hong Kong announced the grand opening of its newly-constructed Poly Gallery. Located at 7/F of One Pacific Place, the spacious and state-of-the-art Gallery will regularly host various exhibitions, lectures and other art-related events in a bid to provide a unique artistic place for clients to experience our professional services. Chinese Modern and Contemporary Art
Poly Auction Hong Kong will offer over 80 lots of Chinese Modern and Contemporary Art with four themed sales as “Wu Guanzhong - Ink and Color & Canvas Collection”, “Oil Paintings of the Republic of China”, “Eastern Abstract Art” and “Chinese Art New Wave”, with an estimated total value of over HK$100 million.

Wu Guanzhong – Ink and Color & Canvas Collection
Poly Auction will offer a number of key achievements of Wu Guanzhong. This collection encompasses Wu’s important ink and oil paintings on various materials from 1970’s to 1990’s, including his masterpieces in canvas, color ink and pen sketch. The great landscapes and mountains bestowed upon Wu the brilliant inspirations and the unique expression, enriching the artist’s journey of self-development with a golden creation era.

Zeng Fanzhi – Connect Modern and Classical Chinese Art
Poly Auction Hong Kong 2013 Spring Auction also presents a number of great achievements from renowned Chinese contemporary artist Zeng Fanzhi, including his significant Mask Series and Mao’s Series, which is generally regarded as a turning point of his oil paintings.

Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy
Poly Auction Hong Kong will offer approximate 350 Chinese paintings and calligraphy, featuring the most important masterpieces from Zhang Daqian, Fu Baoshi, Xu Beihong, Li Keran, Qi Baishi and more.

Jewels and Watches
Poly Auction Hong Kong 2013 Spring Auction’s Jewels and Watches session will present over 200 lots of fine jewelS and exquisite watches, highlighting sparkling color diamonds, Burmese “Pigeon Blood” ruby, Royal blue sapphires, Columbian emerald and antique jewels from ART DECO period together with very rare and extraordinary timepieces from Patek Philippe.

The Royal Romance Ring of floral motif has featured the exclusive and private exhibition 'Out of The Vaults' in London at the Kensington Palace to celebrate the 60th Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.

The precious stones weigh from 0.88 to 1.02 karats (with GIA reports), comprising two pieces of heart-shaped Fancy Intense to Fancy Vivid Purplish pink diamonds (from Argyle pink diamond ore) and two pieces of heart-shaped flawless blue diamonds. Western Australia's Argyle pink diamonds, as the largest single source of pink diamonds, contributes 90% of global pink diamonds since its discovery in 1979 but is predicted to exhauste within 10 years without competent pink diamond ore found till now. From the above, the value of The Royal Romance Ring is doom to boom.

Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art
Following the significant results in Poly Auction Hong Kong 2012 Autumn Auction with a record-breaking hammer price totalled HK$160 million in Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art category, the 2013 Spring Auction will offer over 300 lots of precious antique collections, featuring fine porcelain works, relic bronze wares together with exquisite large classical furniture. We also have the privilege of offering selections from “Kang Xi Zhai” from the renowned collector Edward Chow highlighting nearly 40 lots of fine porcelain, jadeite, emerald works thought out the history. Besides, we are also very honoured to present over 60 lots of important antique jadeite collections from “Huang Ding Xuan”.
