NEW YORK, NY.- Nordic Artwork, a new Scandinavian fine art venture, announces its first exhibition, Nordic Expressions, featuring the work of nine of Denmarks leading contemporary painters. The exhibition, on view at NordicArtwork.com, will be realized by a pop-up gallery in TriBeCa beginning August 19th. Artists featured include Andre Lundquist, Christina Blaabjerg, Christina Kjelsmark, Frank and Gerda Buchgraitz, Hanne Støvring, Janusz Tyrpak, Martin Eggert, and Saeed Fadavi. Several of the artists will be present in the gallery during the exhibition week.
Nordic Expressions builds on the long-standing Nordic tradition of fine art and finesse in painting. The various artists featured here have inherited the subtle, painterly technique of Vilhelm Hammershoj, the brilliant light of the Skagen painters, and the intense emotional palette of Edvard Munch.
In conjunction with the exhibition, Nordic Artwork recently launched its flagship project, an online art gallery. NordicArtwork.com offers the work of contemporary, established Scandinavian artists online and in temporary venues in the United States. NordicArtwork.com sells both individual pieces and complete solutions for private and commercial spaces.
Kirsten Wildfang, a Danish expatriate living in New York, developed the concept of Nordic Artwork as a way for individuals and businesses to collect high-quality art in an easily accessible way. Selected for craftsmanship and international appeal, the artists represented by NordicArtwork.com bring the clean lines of Nordic art to American interiors.
The Nordic Expressions exhibition at Gateway, the Norwegian college and event space, is located adjacent to Aamanns-Copenhagen, the citys only Danish restaurant that will provide light bites and cocktails at events throughout the week so that guests can enjoy both an artistic and a culinary "taste of Denmark."
