HOUSTON, TEXAS.- The Menil Collection has named James T. Demetrion new interim chief. This will be the second time in three years that the museum loses a director and names an interim chief to manage the museum and looks for a replacement. Ned Rifkin left the Menil to head the Hirshorn Museum in Washington, D.C. Menil board chair Louisa Stude Sarofim stated, ’We are thrilled that James has accepted our invitation to come to Houston and to the Menil. He is the perfect person to help us steer this dear and vital arts institution through a time of transition.’
