NEW YORK, NY.- Arte Primitivo, a gallery specializing in Pre-Columbian Art, Classical and Egyptian Antiquities, Asian Antiquities and Antiques and Ethnographic Art in New York City, NY, announces its latest online absentee auction - Fine Pre-Columbian and Tribal Art, Classical and Asian Antiquities –featuring more than 500 lots of authentic examples from around the world.

Arte Primitivo’s absentee bidding format allows bidders to register and then place bids at their own pace right up until each auction’s unique closing time. Everything in the auction is an authentic, quality item. All art has been legally acquired and is legal to sell. Kicking off New York's Tribal Art week we will be hosting an opening party May 13th, 6:00 - 9:00 PM. During the opening party and throughout the Tribal Art week Arte Primitivo will also be displaying world class examples of Pre-Columbian and Tribal art offered for sale.

The first part of Arte Primitivo’s March 14th auction features a wonderful selection of Pre-Columbian Art from West Mexico, the Mayan territories and most of the major cultures of ancient Peru, Costa Rica and Panama.

You’ll browse amazing jewelry, ceramics, stone, textiles and 250 lots of amazing ancient Pre-Columbian art including pieces from the important personal Mayan collection of Dr. Stanley Harding Boggs (1910 - 1991) an American archaeologist who worked and developed the archaeology in El Salvador, and who is called The Father of the Salvadorian Archaeology. Dr. Boggs went on to author numerous books and publications about the art and archaeology of the Maya.

Also featured is a very impressive, high quality collection of a noted Hollywood television producer, many of the lots in this collection are published in several important books and are ex museum pieces some once on loan to The Southwest Museum, Chicago Art Institute and in publications by Hasso Von Winning.

One of the notable lots is lot#6 An Important Jalisco, Mexico Figural Group depicting a central seated chief surrounded by three female attendants. Estimate: $40,000-$45,000

The variety of ancient art continues with almost 200 lots of quality Greek, Roman and Egyptian antiquities. Including works in marble, gold and ceramics. Another 200 lots of Asian and Tribal art rounds off this spectacular sale.

Rose has authored over 100 auction catalogues, is a licensed and bonded New York auctioneer, is a full member of both the NADAOPA (National Association of Dealers in Ancient, Oriental and Primitive Art) and ATADA (Antique Tribal Art Dealers Association).
