LONDON.- The style and content of the second Higgins Armory deaccession sale held today had many different aspects from last year. The first deaccession sale of 2013 of over 400 lots was extremely diverse with a very large number of lower value objects. This year, the sale was smaller in quantity, (with 327 lots) but with a larger amount of good calibre principally traditional European arms and armour.

They made a total of £49,200 (including premium).

The pre-sale view was extremely well attended, as last year, resulting in a very large number of commission bids and paddle registries. The sale was also very well viewed online with a substantial increase of interest from last year, notably in English speaking countries.

Thomas Del Mar comments ‘we were delighted to be able to repeat the remarkable success of the 2013 sale. Selling for a total of £830,000 (including premium), in excess of the sum of the low and high estimates with no unsolds. The market continues to be strongly driven by quality and good provenance which was a prevalent theme throughout.’
