AUBURN, IN.- Fresh on the heels of the company’s most successful Auburn Spring sale to date, Auctions America announces an exciting roster of early entries for its highly anticipated flagship Auburn Fall collector car weekend, August 27 – 31. A Labor Day tradition spanning more than four decades, the 2013 edition of the event demonstrated that Auburn has been fully restored as the Classic Car Capital of America, boasting record sales of more than $28 million and drawing 70,000 enthusiasts to the historic Auburn Auction Park.

Perfectly matched to the Auburn Cord Duesenberg (ACD) Festival weekend, early highlights for the 2014 sale are led by a complete ACD lineup. The stunning trio includes a genuine 1935 Auburn 851 Supercharged Speedster, offered from more than 30 years of single family ownership, and tucked away from public view since the mid-1980s; a supercharged 1937 Cord 812 Sportsman, offered from The Iconic Southern California Collection, an impressive group of six vehicles formerly owned by noted Palm Springs collector, the late Bob Pond and slated for the Auburn Fall block; and, an authentic 1936 Duesenberg Model SJ Dual-Cowl Phaeton by LaGrande, J-523, fitted with a factory SJ engine. One of only 36 SJ Duesenbergs ever built, the example on offer is presented complete with its original chassis, body and bell-housing. Formerly owned by noted enthusiast George Lamberson, this highly coveted Duesenberg is offered from single family ownership since 1978. This group of highlights leads a diverse lineup of some 1200 classics, muscle cars, hot rods, exotics, and more expected to cross the block at Auburn Fall.

“Over the past four years, each of our two Auburn sales has witnessed tremendous growth,” says Donnie Gould, president of Auctions America. “Following the recent success of Auburn Spring, we’re looking forward to the next installment of our flagship Auburn Fall weekend, a must-attend event of the summer for enthusiasts of all ages. These three, locally-built ACD cars are a terrific fit for the event and right at home here in Auburn.”

As one of the country’s premier celebrations of the collector car hobby, the Auburn Fall weekend truly offers something for everyone. In addition to four days of fast-paced auction excitement from the dual-ring arena, the event provides fun for the whole family, including a car corral, swap meet, unique vendors, celebrity appearances and thrill-seeking automotive-themed activities. Broadcasting from the Auburn Auction Park for the second year, NBCSN (NBC Sports Network) will also bring four days of Auburn Fall coverage to more than 80 million homes across the U.S., including over six hours of live auction action.
