CHICAGO, IL.- Bert Green Fine Art is presenting their first solo show by Brooklyn, New York artist Man Bartlett.

Man Bartlett’s work is a mixture of traditional media, digital media, and performance, all of which emphasize the philosophical difference between perceptual knowledge and reality and how this manifests in the interaction of technology and culture. Bartlett is concerned with action and repetition and “the manipulation of the relationship of a medium to itself.” Using time honored mark making on paper, or pixels on screen, he masterfully amalgamates rigor and randomness. Continuing the artist's interest in new methods of ownership and alternative market structures, the animated gifs for "The Object of an Act of Thought" are being offered as unique editions of one with a Monegraph certificate for authentication of ownership. Monegraph (www.monegraph.com) is based on blockchain technology (similar to Bitcoin), whereby a certificate of ownership is generated on the Namecoin blockchain.

Man Bartlett (b.1981) is a multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in New York. He has exhibited or performed in a variety of venues including: The V&A Museum (London), his tiny windowless bedroom, The Brooklyn Museum, a Best Buy store, Freies Museum (Berlin), Eyebeam (New York), Flux Factory (Long Island City), iMOCA (Indianapolis), Port Authority Bus Terminal, Winkleman Gallery, Skydive Art Space (Houston), Platform Gallery (Seattle), and the Whitney Museum of American Art.

In the Project Room is a Group Show of Prints by William Powhida, Scott Hunt, Rebecca Gray Smith, Justice Freeman Leppanen, Raeleen Kao, Dan McCleary, Dave Lefner, and Stephen Kaltenbach. Powhida and Hunt are exhibited couretsty of Schroeder Romero In New York, and Colson, McCleary, Gonzalez, Padron, and Lefner in association with Aardvark Letterpress in Los Angeles. Kaltenbach is courtesy of Another Year in LA in Los Angeles.
