International Center of Photography announces new Collections Center and Media Lab at Mana Contemporary
A 15,000 square foot, state-of-the-art collections facility and media lab will open at Mana Contemporary.

NEW YORK, NY.- The International Center of Photography and Mana Contemporary announce an exciting new partnership. In January 2015, ICP will open a 15,000 square foot, state-of-the-art collections facility and media lab at Mana Contemporary. The space will house ICP’s collection of more than 150,000 works, including the archives of renowned photographers Robert Capa, Cornell Capa, Gerda Taro, Chim (aka David Seymour), and Weegee (aka Arthur Fellig). ICP’s location at Mana is four times larger than its current collections storage facility and will contain areas for collections research and exhibitions. It will also include a newly created lab, which will be an integral part of the creative atmosphere at Mana Contemporary. The pioneering partnership model ICP launched with its recently released Roman Vishniac online archive is an example of the ways collections can be taken beyond their traditional uses and shared more broadly.

Mark Lubell, executive director of the International Center of Photography, says: “We are thrilled to join the vibrant creative community at Mana Contemporary and expand our collection. This gives us a great opportunity to share our rich resources with more audiences. We look forward to building the lab and envision this space as an incubator for new ideas and collaborations.”

Eugene Lemay, founder and executive director of Mana Contemporary, added: "We are honored and delighted to add ICP to Mana Contemporary's growing list of esteemed partners. Our goal is to have every form of art join our community, and ICP is respected as a global leader in photography."

The relocation of the collection and the launch of the lab within Mana Contemporary are an exciting first step in ICP’s move from its current location in midtown Manhattan. ICP plans further announcements in the future regarding additional locations, including a new exhibition space in Manhattan.
