NEW YORK, NY.- Kasher|Potamkin launched the second chapter of Intangible Beauty with the show Intangible Beauty Part II: Go Out Alone and in the Dark. This installation is designed with reverence for the state of being alone, a state more of mind than of body. The show features works from over forty emerging, mid-career, and established artists, some of whom were featured in their first chapter and some of who are completely new.
Kasher|Potamkin situates art in an intimate, home-like environment, and presents an accessible shopping experience through thematic and seasonal group shows, rotating every two months. As a cash-and-carry gallery, clients can purchase a piece from the show and take it home with them that day. This results in a constant flow of new works replacing those that have been taken home, and a subtle energetic shift as the show moves from the first chapter into the second.
The first chapter, Intangible Beauty: Beautiful Women and the Endless Void explored the intrigue of a woman through arts mixture of remoteness and closeness. As the show moves into October, it shifts further and further in the direction of remoteness with Intangible Beauty Part II: Go Out Alone and in the Dark.
Intangible Beauty Part II: Go Out Alone and in the Dark draws the viewer into the dark and challenging unknown. These works pull the viewer beyond the frame that is a bit frightening and a bit sexy. It is the combination of the danger and the invitation that creates intrigue. And sometimes it is the artworks that seem too still, too strange, or too dark that are the most rewarding.
The show features works by new artists Mayumi Hosokura, Wendy Given, Olivia Locher, Isabella Stähl, Bob Carlos Clarke, Shae DeTar and Tim Shaw. In addition, new works will be integrated from artists showing in the first chapter.
The exhibition features works by: Miles Aldridge, AMMA Studio, Tresse Agoche, Oscar Azmitia, Dana Bechert, Ghyslain Bertholon, Brooklynn Blackmore, John Breed, Calico Wallpaper, Bex Cassie, Bob Carlos Clarke, Shae DeTar, Delphine Diallo, Doug Fogelson, Mia Fonssagrives-Solow, Maurizio Galante and Tal Lancman, Giles, Wendy Given, The Haas Brothers, Tim Hailand, Jessica Harrison, Marie Hochhaus, Mayumi Hosokura, Sergei Isupov, Jessica Janoski, Stefan Janoski, Nancy Josephson, Adrienne Landau, Olivia Locher, Won Lee, LEnchanteur, Paul Manes, Fernando Mastrangelo, Elisabeth Molin, Beatrix Ost, Lex Pott, Abraxas Rex, Marianna Rothen, Biata Roytburd, Stefan Rurak, Tim Shaw, Bruce Sherman, Vee Speers, Isabella Stähl, Atsushi Tawa, Philip Treacy, Michael Verheyden, Michael Wilson
