BEIJING, CHINA.- At an auction at a Beijing hotel a work by a Sung dynasty emperor sold for $3 million dollars, in what could be a record price. Sung Hui-tsung was the last emperor of Northern Sung dynasty and this was the first work by him auctioned. The work sold portrays delicately painted birds perched on twigs. There are only 19 surviving works by this emperor.
