TOLEDO, OHIO.- The Toledo Museum of Art is holding the groundbreaking for the Glass Pavilion on Monday, November 10, 2003. The event will begin promptly at 5 P.M. in the Museum’s Peristyle.
Speaking at the groundbreaking will be: Toledo Mayor Jack Ford; James A. Hoffman, Museum board of trustees president; Roger Berkowitz, the Museum’s CEO, President, and Director; Georgia and David K. Welles, co-chairs of the Museum’s Founders of the Second Century capital campaign; Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa, the architects of the Glass Pavilion; and Richard Putney and Katerina Reudi Ray. These speakers will be available for interviews following the ceremony.
When complete, the Glass Pavilion will house the Museum’s world-renowned collection of glass and will reside within the site bounded by Monroe St., Parkwood Ave., Woodruff Ave. and Scottwood Ave.
