DUBAI.- Brand Dubai, a subsidiary of the Government of Dubai Media Office, has announced cooperation with Meraas, a Dubai-based holding company, in organizing the first session of Dubai Canvas Festival expected to kick off at THE BEACH opposite Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) from 1st to 7th of March 2015. The event is held with participation from local and international elite artists.

Brand Dubai has chosen THE BEACH to hold this global event as the location is a major attraction and has an outstanding waterfront in addition to its modern public facilities and services. First of its kind in the UAE, Visitor will enjoy an open art gallery in addition to a rare opportunity to meet world’s best 3D artists.

Fahad Kazim, Chief Commercial Officer at Meraas said: “We are glad to work with the Government of Dubai Media Office through its innovation arm, Brand Dubai, a well-equipped vehicle for innovation and creativity. We have followed similar ethos when designing THE BEACH, which has today become one of Dubai’s major attractions welcoming thousands of visitors every day.”

Kazim added: “Choosing THE BEACH to host Dubai Canvas Festival is a good call as the location enjoys a spectacular view and covers over 300,000 square feet. We are looking forward to host this international event that introduces a new art school and is anticipated to attract worldwide attention.”

From her side, DGMO’s Director of Communications and Innovation Noora Al Abbar said: “Dubai Canvas celebrates innovation and introduces a new artistic school that has not been explored regionally on such level. It is a qualitative addition to Dubai’s cultural agenda and also reflects the emirate’s unique characters”. Al Abbar expressed her sincere appreciation for Meraas for supporting the festival’s objectives.

In addition to exhibiting 3D works for renowned artists, Dubai Canvas Festival offers a variety of events including specialized workshops, lecture by founding father of 3D pavement art Kurt Wenner and a Kids dedicated corner.

Dubai Canvas Festival welcomes visitors from 1-7 March 2015, 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM during weekdays and throughout the day during weekends.
