NEW YORK, NY.- Catherine Manson has been appointed Global Head of Communications for
Christies International. She is responsible for overseeing all internal and external communications for the company. Cat has twenty years of global experience and has been based in London and New York. Highly experienced in the development and delivery of communications strategy, specialising in the art market and reputational brand matters, Cats campaigns have covered every area of the business. She has worked with all categories and regions, from the fine and decorative arts and luxury fields, as well supporting many high profile single owner collection sales, celebrity and charity auctions. Cat worked on launching the company activities in China, Middle East, India and Russia as part of the strategy to develop new markets. Her opinion is sought from peers outside Christies on communications matters involving cultural heritage as well as a variety of reputational and industry issues.
Cat joined Christie's in 1995. She was appointed a Director in 2005 and a Senior Director in 2009. From 2009, she served as Deputy Global Head of Corporate Communications and Global Head of Internal Communications until early 2011, when she was appointed Chief of Staff to the Chief Executive Officer, Christies, a post she held until late 2013. Most recently, Cat has been International Director, Corporate Affairs. Educated at Wycombe Abbey School, Cat completed a B.A. Hons in English Literature and Language at Durham University and a Masters in Renaissance Studies at the Courtauld Institute of Art, London. Prior to joining Christies, she taught art history in Italy.
