SA Communities Benefit Fund Grants



MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA.- Forty-nine artists in 34 South Australian communities will benefit from the latest Regional Arts Fund grant round, announced today by the Minister for the Arts and Sport, Senator Rod Kemp.  

’The Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund supports cultural activities in regional Australia and funding of $82,348 will go towards 23 projects in communities across regional South Australia,’ Senator Kemp said.  

’A wide range of projects have been funded under this latest round and this demonstrates the cultural diversity that is alive and well in regional Australia.’  

Major initiatives supported include: Funky Floor-working with local artists and community groups to make an artistic feature of the Tumby Bay Skills Centre.

Light Terrain-a cross artform collaboration between the Whyalla Art Group and D’ Faces of Youth Arts video jamming crew . 

Cummins Centenary Heritage Arts Trail Program-a series of arts workshops and projects to remember and celebrate the Cummins and Yeelana Centenary Celebrations in 2004. 

Arts in Health-developing a strategic and creative plan for significant arts projects that will be inclusive and consultative and address the complex issues of suicide in the South East.

The Regional Arts Fund is an Australian Government initiative that aims to support the arts in regional and remote Australia. Country Arts SA manages the fund in South Australia on behalf of the Australian Government.  

Assistance is available across all art forms for projects that promote excellence in regional arts development. A full list of funded projects is attached.
