MEXICO CITY.- The Casa Estudio Diego Rivera y Frida Kahlo hosts the temporary showing of "Echoes of ink and paper. From the intimacy of Frida Kahlo", a compilation of diverse letters written by Frida Kahlo to her near friends and relations, which presents the artist from an intimate discourse that evidences her esthetic relationship with Diego Rivera, among other things.

The exhibition includes the original letters written by Frida Kahlo to her doctor and friend Leo Eloesser, and to Maria Luisa and Matilde Kahlo as well as fascimiles of the missives written by the artist to her lover, the Hungarian photographer Nickolas Muray –with whom she corresponded during ten years, as well as her exchange of letters with actress Dolores del Rio during the 40’s.

As a wish come true, Frida Kahlo became the image of three postal stamps, two Mexican and one American, which are also being exhibited.

The documentation and objects of this exhibition are illustrated by approximately 50 images of the time in which the letters were written, such as those by Edward Weston, Imogen Cunningham, Julien Levy, Carl van Vechten, Antonio Kahlo, Nickolas Muray and Guillermo Kahlo.

"Echoes of ink and paper. From the intimacy of Frida Kahlo", will remain open at The Casa Estudio Diego Rivera y Frida Kahlo until the 8th of November, it’s a resonance between two narrations: written word and image.
