| Jack Dyer Statue To Stay |

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA.- The Jack Dyer statue, erected near the Richmond Football Club to honour the memory of a great football legend, is to stay where it is following a recommendation of a Melbourne City Council committee tonight. Lord Mayor John So said the Council would ratify the committee’s decision when it next meets.
"The Council has an excellent relationship with the Richmond Football Club and we had been working through a process with the Club to secure the statue’s site," the Lord Mayor said.
"That process of negotiation has been concluded and I’m pleased we will be able to give the Club a formal approval for the statue to be permanently located in its present location. "Jack Dyer was a great champion of the game and had a proud connection with this part of the city - it’s fitting his memory is respected at this spot in Yarra Park," the Lord Mayor said.
