LEEDS.- Every five years, the British Art Show, organised by Hayward Touring, provides a vital overview of the most exciting contemporary art being produced in the UK.

On its eighth edition, the British Art Show is accompanied by a richly illustrated publication that includes the work of 42 artists whose practices span sculpture, painting, installation, drawing, film, video and performance. In images, essays and a wealth of discussions with the artists themselves, British Art Show 8 explores their engagement with the material world at a time of increasing convergence between the real and virtual spheres.

Beautifully designed by Fraser Muggeridge studio, the publication also includes two essays by Anna Colin and Lydia Yee, curators of the show, as well as works, texts and preparatory material from artists such as Caroline Achaintre, Aaron Angell, Adam Broomberg & Oliver Chanarin, Pablo Bronstein, Simon Fujiwara, Ryan Gander, Melanie Gilligan, Linder, Rachel Maclean, Yuri Pattison, Ciara Phillips, Laure Prouvost, James Richards, Daniel Sinsel, Cally Spooner, Patrick Staff and Lynette Yiadom-Boakye.
