As an advisor to the company, Jussel will assist Invaluable with growing the company’s network of auction houses and dealers.

NEW YORK, NY.- Invaluable, the world’s leading online marketplace for fine art, antiques and collectibles, today announced the appointment of Chris Jussel, the original host of the PBS television series Antiques Roadshow, as an advisor to the company. In this role, he will work closely with Invaluable’s Leadership Team to lend his deep industry expertise to both current and future projects as the company continues its trajectory of record-breaking growth.

As an advisor to the company, Jussel will assist Invaluable with growing the company’s network of auction houses and dealers. He will also act as a brand ambassador at industry events, and will be a regular contributor to In Good Taste, Invaluable’s blog.

“With more than 40 years of experience, Chris brings a tremendous wealth of industry knowledge to the Invaluable team. We couldn’t be more excited to leverage his expertise as we continue to grow our business and embark on exciting new initiatives over the course of this year,” said Rob Weisberg, Invaluable CEO. “In 2015 we helped deliver more than $10 billion in total hammer, with a 60 percent increase in live auction revenue. We look forward to leveraging Chris’ knowledge and many relationships in the industry to help us grow even faster this year.”

Jussel hosted Antiques Roadshow for its first four years, following a prominent career of more than 20 years as the owner of Vernay & Jussel, Inc., which he closed in 1994. He served for many years on the Board of Directors of The National Antique & Art Dealers Association of America and was its President from 1988-1992.

From 1999 until 2004, Jussel was a Senior Vice President at Sotheby’s, where he worked in the Business Development and Trusts & Estates Division. In 2001, he was appointed by the Commissioner to the Art Advisory Panel of the Internal Revenue Service in Washington, D.C., and has served on this committee ever since. He has lectured extensively for more than twenty years on the exciting world of art and antiques collecting, and currently runs his own estate appraisal and advisory firm. He also continues to remain active as a dealer in 18th century English Furniture.

“Through innovation and technology, Invaluable is rapidly changing the world of art and antiques - and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to the company’s growth and success,” said Jussel. “This new role will give me the opportunity to work with many of my industry contacts, while leveraging Invaluable’s technology to assist them in growing their businesses – making it a win/win for everyone.”
