LONG ISLAND CITY, NY.- Sascha S. Bauer, Chair, and Mary Ceruti, Executive Director and Chief Curator, announced today that Benoit P. Bosc, Dennis Freedman, and Roelfien Kuijpers were elected to SculptureCenter’s Board of Trustees at its February meeting. SculptureCenter has added 11 new members to the Board since 2013, continuing to build a group of leaders who propel SculptureCenter’s mission to explore current and compelling themes in contemporary art at an international level. Recent additions include artists Carol Bove and Adam McEwen; art collectors and philanthropists, Candy Barasch, Eleanor Heyman Propp, and Allison Rubler; art advisor Eleanor Cayre; architect Nate McBride; and cultural planning consultant Elizabeth Ellis.

Bauer said “We are thrilled to welcome Benoit, Dennis, and Roelfien to the Board. Five years ago we set out to expand the membership and build the resources the Board collectively contributes to the organization. This group adds to an already strong and committed Board.”

Benoit Bosc manages the Crude Oil trading book for Goldman, Sachs & Co., first in London and now most recently in New York City. From 2008 to 2011, he worked in the Commodities Division of Barclays Capital, and prior to that as an Interest Rates Product Strategist at Goldman, Sachs & Co from 2005 to 2007. Bosc and his partner, Torsten Schlauersbach, co-founder of the architectural firm Haute Architecture dpc, have a keen interest in the arts, philanthropy, and advancing LGBT issues. They have been involved at various levels in organizations such as amfAR, Visual AIDS, and SculptureCenter among others, and look forward to further contributing to the efforts of such charitable institutions.

Dennis Freedman is the award-winning Creative Director behind luxury specialty retailer Barneys New York. Freedman is responsible for the overall creative direction of Barneys New York, including all photographic and video imaging, graphic and store design, and visual merchandising. Freedman also serves as Creative Curator of the Barneys New York windows, creating collaborative partnerships—including those with legendary editor Carine Roitfeld, Lady Gaga, world-renowned art collector Dakis Joannou, and the Walt Disney Company—to develop innovative window installations, advertising campaigns, and limited-edition merchandise collections. Prior to joining Barneys New York in 2011, Freedman spent nearly 20 years as the Founding Creative Director of W, transforming it into the world’s benchmark for fashion magazines.

Roelfien Kuijpers is a Managing Director in the Asset Management division of Deutsche Bank (DeAM). Based in New York, she is the Global Head of Relationship Management and Key Account Management. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Deutsche Bank Americas Foundation and chairs the Investment Committee. Known as a strong supporter of women and diversity, she served as Chairwoman of Women on Wall Street (WOWS) for many years, and helped establish the Women in European Business (WEB) chapters in the UK and Germany. She has served on the diversity committee for the Americas for over a decade, is the diversity champion for AWM in the Americas, and is the Executive Sponsor for the LGBT network. Kuijpers is a member of the Women’s Leadership Board at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, the Pratt Institute Board of Trustees, and is the Chairwoman of the Parent’s Executive Committee at Oberlin College. She has also served on the Board of the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
