SEATTLE, WA.- Seattle Art Fair, presented by AIG, has confirmed over 80 exhibitors for the 2016 fair, running August 4-7 at CenturyLink Field Event Center. The Seattle Art Fair is co-produced by Paul G. Allen’s Vulcan Inc. and Art Market Productions. The fair will provide access to some of the most prestigious galleries worldwide, many of which will be returning for the second year, along with new U.S. galleries from Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Portland, San Francisco, and international newcomers from Paris; Cologne, Germany; Seoul, South Korea; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Tokyo.

Max Fishko, Director of the Seattle Art Fair, says, “The 2016 edition of Seattle Art Fair will demonstrate impressive growth from our 2015 debut. From a remarkable array of proposals, we selected over 80 galleries to present a truly unique opportunity to the collecting public. This is a chance to see work being made in, of, and about the Pacific Northwest and Pacific Rim in concert with some of the most important contemporary artists of our time—and better still, to do so in the elegant, energetic, and magical environment that is Seattle in the summer.”

Projects and Talks
The Seattle Art Fair Projects will debut a new series of special activities, performances, and installations to engage the fair’s public spaces, organized by Artistic Director Laura Fried. Spanning sculpture, performance, and installation, the Projects will occupy the site of the fair and infiltrate public space in adjacent neighborhoods, reaching a wide and diverse audience, and spotlighting Seattle's position as a vital cultural capital.

LA-based artist and musician Brendan Fowler, in collaboration with local artists, will stage a weekend-long series of performances in Pioneer Square. In the International District/Chinatown, dancers such as Flora Wiegmann will perform in a program that also includes resident artists from Velocity Dance Center. On-site at the fair, large-scale sculptures and installations will be integrated into the fair experience, while artists such as Dawn Kasper and Wynne Greenwood, in addition to special contributors such as Public Fiction, will create immersive projects that address the architecture and context of the fair itself. Throughout the weekend, the fair Talks will be a daily program of conversations by an array of artists and leaders in creative fields like film and music, covering interdisciplinary topics involving culture and curiosity.
