BARCELONA, SPAIN.- The Forum of the Cultures starts reaping from the efforts of the intense diffusion of the last two months, and has already topped, following the Christmas communication campaign, the 120,000 tickets limit. This has been achieved through the support of the four hundred associations, businesses and entities from every field that have taken advantage of special discounts for groups and cooperatives, and according to the Forum’s management, responded “enthusiastically and positively” to the November call for support.
The number of tickets sold (120,081 up to last Tuesday) was believed unthinkable in past weeks in the reckoning of general director Jordi Oliveras, who had set the 100,000 figure as a special challenge four months before the event.
DISCOUNTS UP TO 15% NOW - Sales account for 39,756 one-day tickets (33.11%) that provide free access to the Forum area, except for attending Dialogues or debates. The highest demand product are the three-day tickets sold beforehand for the price of two, a promotion of the Christmas campaign. These allow a three-day attendance on non-consecutive days, besides offering free access to three of the expositions featured in the city.
More discounts are offered starting January 7 and up to May 8. Special prices for groups are still an incentive for the several associations committed to the Forum to involve the general public, such as professional colleges, and private and religious organizations. The Forum also entered a collaboration agreement with the 16 most representative bodies of the financial and social world of Cataluña.
400,000 visitors guaranteed. - According to the organization, growing sales are an indicator of the expectation the Forum generates. “To be sure, the following weeks may show a decline, but support from business and associations is boosting up diffusion and a very positive response.”
With a five million visitors goal, tickets sold so far account for, as estimated by the organizing committee, some 413,784 visits. It is significant to note that 20% of sales has been outside Cataluña, attesting to the notice the event has awakened elsewhere.
High demand of season tickets will take the organization to set limits due to seating space restrictions, explains general director Jordi Oliveras,
From this date, and until April, the forum goes into the rehearsal stage, with the participation of the 25,000 people linked with collaborating associations.
