HONG KONG.- Sotheby’s announced the appointment of Jessie Kang as Head of Watches, Asia. Ms. Kang will work closely with Maria Kelly, International Division Director Jewellery & Watches, and with Sotheby’s international team of specialists, in driving the Company’s business in auctions and private sales of watches in Asia.

Ms. Kang possesses more than 16 years of experience in the watch industry in diverse capacities ranging from advisory, business development, client acquisition and retention, to managing teams and multi-brand client accounts across Asia. Her prior experience includes Bertolucci and Raymond Weil in Greater China, TAG Heuer and Zenith in Taiwan and Korea, as well as Chronoswiss, IWC, and Parmigiani across Asia Pacific. Having also worked with the Kering Group on the strategic brand management and travel retail business of Girard Perregaux and JeanRichard, Ms. Kang enjoys strong and extensive industry connections in Asia, specifically in Hong Kong, Macau, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines.

In addition to her wealth of watch-related experience, Ms. Kang is also a graduate Gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).

Ms. Kang will lead a full team of watch specialists based in Hong Kong, as supported by Ms. Cherie Wong and Ms. Vicki Leung. The forthcoming sale of Fine Timepieces will be held on 28 November at Sotheby’s Hong Kong Gallery, offering a fine selection of accessibly-priced classic, modern and vintage wristwatches, as well as pocket watches and clocks.
