PARIS.- Triple V gallery announces the solo exhibition of Laurent Montaron in its space on rue du Mail from 24 November 2016 to 12 January 2017. An ensemble of new creations is being presented including two unseen films.
Author of a shape-shifting body of work (photography, film, sculpture
), Laurent Montaron frequently draws inspiration from the recent history of technologies, expressing in his work, in a suggestive and fascinating way, different means by which these technical inventions renew our perception and our understanding of the world, in playing with different mediums of recording reality, and these distortions or filters that they generate.
The artists work has been the object of several important solo exhibitions at the IAC of Villeurbanne, the Centre National de la Photographie in Paris, the FRAC Champagne-Ardenne, the Mercer Union in Toronto, the Kunstverein of Fribourg, Switzerland and the KunsthausBaselland in Basel, Switzerland. Laurent Montaron has also been invited to participate in a number of high level collective exhibitions such as the biennales of Venice and Sydney.
In parallel, Laurent Montaron is presenting his work at the Fondation dEntreprise Ricard in the framework of an exhibition entitled Dioramas from 15 November 2016 to 7 January 2017.
Laurent Montaron was born in 1972 and studied at the École dArt et de Design in Reims. The artist presents diverse artistic and intellectual questions in his work. Known for moving between photography and video, his works require the viewer to reinterpret the context of a conventional image. He is particularly interested in the history of new technologies and how they affect our perception of reality.
