NORFOLK, VA.- The Chrysler Museum of Art announced the appointment of Meredith Gray as Director of Communications. She will lead the Museums marketing and communications efforts and work with teams across the Museum to engage the local community and continue to expand the Chryslers reach.
The Chrysler is more than a museum; it is a multifaceted experience. It is an anchor to the fast-growing NEON district and creative community in Norfolk, Va., which is such a draw to our region, says Gray. I look forward to sharing the Chryslers mission and playing a role in broadening access to art through the various programs the Chrysler has to offer.
Chrysler Director Erik Neil says Gray brings valuable experience in strategic marketing and communications including website development and social media management, as well as traditional writing and editing.
Her creativity and energy are immediately evident and will be essential skills as the Chrysler expands and improves its digital presence, Neil says. This exceptional Museum engages and inspires hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, for free, with remarkable works of art and outstanding programs. As we build on these strengths, it is essential that we effectively communicate all that we have to offer. Meredith is ready to partner with our curators and educators to carry this vital effort forward and bring our message to the public in all the critical formats.
Gray most recently served as the marketing manager of software developer Welligent, which offers a cloud-based electronic health record system serving healthcare providers nationwide. Previously, she managed marketing for Maersk Line, Limited, an international shipping company, and also launched her own successful e-commerce start-up company.
She is a Hampton Roads native and graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University. Ms. Gray will join the Chrysler in February.
