MILAN.- Phillips announced the appointment of Clarice Pecori Giraldi as a Regional Director for Italy, based in Milan.

As part of the company’s significant international expansion, Ms. Pecori Giraldi will play an important role in building Phillips’ brand in Europe, working closely with the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Department along with specialists across all departmental categories to support its business development efforts. She will work closely with Carolina Lanfranchi, Phillips’ Senior International Specialist in Milan, and Francesco Bonami, esteemed Curator and Senior Advisor, to increase its presence in one of the world’s most important cultural capitals.

Ms. Pecori Giraldi has extensive experience in Italy. She joins Phillips from Christie’s, where she spent seven years as Managing Director for Christie’s in Italy, working primarily in Milan. Most recently, she was Head of Private Sales for Christie’s in Europe, based in London. Ms. Pecori Giraldi also serves as Vice Chairman for the Triennale di Milano Museum and is Chairman of the Advisory Board of Fondo Ambiente Italiano, which works to preserve Italian art and culture. She started her career as a Junior Specialist at Sotheby’s Italy and rose to become the Head of Department in Italy before joining Christie’s. She has also worked in corporate communications for luxury brands Salvatore Ferragamo and Prada.

“Italy has always been one of the world’s most important centers of art and will become an increasingly important market for Phillips,” said Edward Dolman, Chief Executive Officer. “Clarice is a fantastic addition to the Phillips team as we work to provide clients throughout Europe the best service across all of the collecting areas in which we specialize. She will partner with Phillips’s senior executives in Asia, Europe and the United States to further develop our global client relationships, focusing on delivering best-in-class services and engagement opportunities to today’s collectors.”
