Rivera’s Daughter Involved in Undercover Property Purchases

MORELOS.- The government of the state of Morelos, Mexico, through the Public Registrars Office of Property and Commerce, has discovered that Guadalupe Rivera Marin, the former delegate of Alvaro Obregón, is a cover person for the business entrepreneur Carlos Ahumada in the acquisition of properties in Morelos.

The director of the Public Registrars Office In Morelos, Juan Carlos Fuentes Nuño, said that they found five properties bought for Carlos Ahumada through financial operations undertaken by Guadalupe Rivera Marin, the daughter of Diego Rivera.  Pablo Ahumada Kart, the brother of Carlos Ahumada is also involved in the undercover operations where large residences were purchased in Cuernavaca, Tepoztlan and Cocoyoc.

The property in Cuernavaca was bought by Guadalupe Rivera Marin in 1997, and cost $227,500 pesos at that time.  The house is located in the suburb of Rancho Tetela and is 924 square meters in size.

According to the Public Registrar, the property that Diego Rivera´s daughter bought was previously owned by the former Mexican president Luis Echeverria Alvarez, who sold the property through his legal aid Jose Luis Pontones Yarena.
