LONDON.- Phillips is pleased to announce the appointment of Philip Anders as the companys new Chief of Staff, replacing Lisa King, who is leaving Phillips after three years with the company.
While Mr. Anders will start immediately in his new role, Ms. King will remain with Phillips through the end of the year to complete the strategic plan for the next three years and to hand over her responsibilities to her successor. Ms. King joined Phillips soon after Edward Dolman came on board as Chief Executive Officer at Phillips, working on the companys long-term strategy of creating a significant competitor in the global auction market for 20th Century & Contemporary Art, Design, Photographs, Watches, Latin American Art, Jewelry and Editions. Ms. King was instrumental in creating a long-term strategy, recruiting the executive, management and specialist teams to implement the companys growth plan, and building the infrastructure required to support the global specialist teams.
Lisa has been an invaluable partner in helping me create the new Phillips over the last three years, said Mr. Dolman. She has done a remarkable job of helping Phillips develop a long-term strategy, expand our brand across the globe, and recruit the best team in the auction business. Now that our strategy is successfully moving forward and we have a solid management team in place, Lisa has decided that it is the right time to hand over the baton to Phil Anders to oversee the next phase of Phillips' development. I have worked with Phil previously and I am confident that we will continue to transform Phillips into the worlds leading auction house for contemporary art and design. Phil is a well-established and respected leader and will be an important addition to our team. I want to express my sincere thanks to Lisa for her support and her extraordinary contribution to bringing Phillips to this point.
Mr. Anders has considerable management and consultative experience. He joins Phillips from his post as Managing Director of Greatford Associates Limited, a strategic financial consulting company. During his career, he also worked as Strategic Financial Advisor for the Qatar Museums Authority in Doha, where he was part of a senior leadership team responsible for delivering a 10-year project plan to State Leadership, including presentations to The Emir, The Prime Minister and Ministry of Finance officials. Before going to Qatar, Mr. Anders worked at Christies as Group Finance Director in London, where he was responsible for the financial management and control of the group including extensive communications with the companys primary shareholder and the financial community. He also served as Executive Vice President at United International Pictures, a joint venture between Universal Studios & Paramount Pictures, responsible for Finance, Operations, HR and IT within UIP's international operations.
