NEW YORK, NY.- Christie’s announces a new sales strategy commencing in Autumn 2017 to align its global decorative arts sales calendar with key industry fairs, and to introduce a program of engaging, international public events called Christie’s Lates. The new decorative arts calendar features curated sales targeting a wide range of buyers; The Exceptional Sale, presenting museum quality pieces; The Collector sales, offering a curated selection of objects and furniture for connoisseurs; Interiors sales, featuring contemporary and classic pieces for the home; and Private Collection sales, selling property from the homes of important collectors.

CHRISTIE’S LATES
Christie’s Lates welcomes collectors and enthusiasts of all ages and interests who enjoy engaging with art. The events are free and open to the public with special programming during the auction previews. The popular concept of Christie’s Lates will launch at Christie’s London, 8 King Street, beginning with a 25 September event for the Collection of Audrey Hepburn. New York’s Rockefeller Center Galleries will host its inaugural Christie’s Late on 13 October alongside its series of sales and will partner with de Gournay, the bespoke artisan wallpaper and fabric firm, to transform the auction galleries.

Orlando Rock, Co-Chairman, Decorative Arts, UK commented: "Throughout our history, Christie’s has welcomed collectors who are interested in each and every field of collecting and specialisation. It is their sense of adventure, passion, knowledge, eclecticism and enthusiasm that underpins every great collection - and it is as true today as it was in the past. Thankfully, the past informs the future and unique objects from different era and cultures are arguably even more engaging and relevant in a world that is so transient. Christie's will always remain firmly committed to showcasing the best of decorative arts, from ancient to modern."

Jody Wilkie, Co-Chairman, Decorative Arts, New York, remarks: “We are excited to present a streamlined sales calendar well suited to match the needs of our global collecting audience. This innovative series of sales reflects the passion of our clients for collecting beautiful objects at all levels of the market.”

New York will hold the first series of the new sales platform in October, preceding the TEFAF fair week – with THE COLLECTOR: 19th Century Furniture, Sculpture, Works of Art, Ceramics & Silver on 17 October and THE COLLECTOR: English & European Furniture, Works of Art & Ceramics & Silver on 18 October, followed by French & English Furniture from a Distinguished Private Collection on 24 October.
