SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA.-The Gallery at Art Institute of California, Orange County, would like to invite you to the exhibition “Steve McGarry: A Survey of Cartoons and Illustrations”. The event will begin on April 23 and continue through July 12, 2004. McGarry holds the prestigious 2002 Newspaper Illustrator of the Year Award by The National Cartoonists Society in both the U.S. And Australia and the 2002 Stanley Award for General Illustration from The Australian Cartoonists’ Association. He is the creator of the enormously successful daily cartoon strip "Badlands" that ran in The Sun (London) for thirteen years. He is also syndicated worldwide with "Pop Culture" and "Kid City" as well as the co-creator of a new daily comic strip "Mullets." This exhibition focuses on both the prolific scope of McGarry’s career as well as his process of production as a cartoonist and illustrator.
