DALLAS< TX.- Dallas Contemporary announces its new membership group called Y@161 with events and programming geared toward young professionals and art enthusiasts with interest in contemporary art. Dallas Contemporary will provide a way for supporters to gather, socialize and learn about art in a unique atmosphere. Events for Y@161 will be held in Dallas Contemporarys newly occupied and repurposed industrial quarters as well as off site at neighboring businesses and institutions.
Dynamic and innovative, Y@161 will consist of programs including special gallery talks during current exhibitions, visits to local and regional artist studios, tours of private art collections, film screenings and social gatherings.
To initiate this exciting new membership group, Dallas Contemporary will host a gathering at Meddlesome Moth, Wednesday, September 1 from 5 - 7 pm. Meet fellow members of Y@161, enjoy food and drink specials, and hear James Cope, Curatorial Associate of the Goss-Michael Foundation speak about the importance of being a young philanthropist in Dallas and the state of the global contemporary art scene.
