NEW YORK, NY.- Americana Week sales totaled $8,255,750 with active in-room, phone, and online participation. The top lot of the week was Rembrandt Peale (1778-1860) After Charles Willson Peale (1741-1827), Portrait of George Washington as a Colonel of the Alexandria Militia, early 19th Century, which realized $852,500. Strong sell through rates were achieved across all auctions, with average 85% sold by lot.

Notable results include The Hunter-Dunn Family Chippendale Plum Pudding Mahogany Block-and-Shell Tall-Case Clock, which sold for $612,500; a Rare and Important Silk-and Metal-on-Linen Needlework Pictorial, 1791, wrought by Mary Russell (B. 1779), which sold for $324,500; Henry Darger (1892-1973), 93 At Jennie Richee, are chaced for long distance by Glandelinians with blood hounds. / 95 At Jennie Richee, Escape down Aronburgs Run River through circle section in storm, which realized $672,500, three times its low estimate; A Very Rare Set of Blue and White ‘Tea Cultivation’ Dishes, Qianlong Period, circa 1750, which realized $150,000; and An American Silver and Mixed-Metal Three-Piece Ale Drinking Set, Mark of Tiffany & Co., New York, circa 1878, which realized $112,500.

The top lot for the sale was A Very Rare Set of Blue and White ‘Tea Cultivation’ Dishes, Qianlong Period, circa 1750, which realized $150,000. Strong results were achieved for property from Marchant, est 1925, with many lots greatly exceeding initial estimates.

The top lot for the sale was Henry Darger (1892-1973), 93 At Jennie Richee, are chaced for long distance by Glandelinians with blood hounds. / 95 At Jennie Richee, Escape down Aronburgs Run River through circle section in storm., which realized $672,500, more than tripling its low estimate and making it the second highest price paid for the artist. Within the sale an auction record was set for artist Aloïse Corbaz and lots offered from The Collection of Marjorie and Harvey Freed were 100% sold, with many going above initial estimates.

The top lot for the silver section of the sale was An American Silver and Mixed-Metal Three-Piece Ale Drinking Set, Mark of Tiffany & Co., New York, circa 1878, which realized $112,500. Strong results were achieved for Silver Formerly from The Dwight D. and Mamie Eisenhower Collection: Property of The John S.D. Eisenhower Trust, with all eleven lots offered sold. The top lot from the collection was the Tiffany flatware from the Columbine (original Air Force 1), which sold for $60,000 against an estimate of $12,000-18,000.
