TOLEDO, OH.- The Toledo Museum of Art has promoted two staff members and has named a new member to its senior management team. Kristina Crystal has been hired to fill a new position at the Museum – chief revenue officer; Adam Levine has been tapped to be TMA’s deputy director; and Lynn Miller has been named associate director of the Museum.
"These three proven leaders are key to ushering the Toledo Museum of Art into its next exciting phase of growth and development," said Brian Kennedy, the Museum's Edward Drummond and Florence Scott Libbey director. "We are fortunate to have them share their broad strategic talents and contributions as part of our senior management team."
Crystal joins TMA from Deluxe Entertainment Services, a $1 billion media entertainment business based in Burbank, California, where she served as chief administrative officer of Deluxe and chief operating officer of the creative services division since 2015. From 1993 to 2015 Crystal worked in various roles with Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, including most recently as director of global operations of management consulting in products industries. She previously worked as part of the firm’s consulting arm in corporate growth and strategy and supply chain practice. Crystal is adept at defining and implementing integrated business strategies to deliver profitable growth. She graduated cum laude from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering.
Levine most recently served jointly as associate director of the Museum and curator of ancient art and is responsible for the management of the communications, education and engagement, collections and systems departments. He also oversees the implementation of TMA’s master plan and has managed the Museum’s wide-ranging visual literacy outreach which includes training and corporate applications initiatives. An expert in Roman art, Levine will continue in his curatorial role. Previously, he held the positions of assistant director, head of visitor engagement and Mellon fellow at TMA. Prior to his arrival at TMA in 2013, Levine was a collections management assistant in the Greek and Roman art department at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. In 2009 he co-founded Art Research Technologies, a private intellectual property business that values artwork; that business was acquired by a London finance firm in 2016. Levine graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology, art history, mathematics and social sciences from Dartmouth College. As a Rhodes scholar, he received his M.St. and D. Phil. in the history of art from the University of Oxford. Among the exhibitions he has curated at TMA are I Approve This Message: Decoding Political Ads (2016), Glorious Splendor: Treasures of Early Christian Art (2017-18) and The Mummies: From Egypt to Toledo (2018). He speaks and publishes widely on topics including ancient art, interpretive strategies, museology and management practices.
Miller joined TMA in 2013 as director of human resources and subsequently was named assistant director of the Museum in 2016 with operational responsibilities over human resources, protective services, facilities, finance, strategic planning, governance and risk management. Prior to joining TMA, Miller was a senior consultant for the Hanover Insurance Group in Worcester, Massachusetts, where she collaborated and supported four regional presidents and 20 field offices across the business and specialty risk insurance lines. She previously worked in senior human resources roles at Thomson Reuters Tax and Accounting and Domino’s Pizza Corporation, both in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Bowling Green State University. She also holds a Human Resource Business Partner Certification from the Society for Human Resource Management, the leading national human resources professional association and accreditation organization.
