Joan B. Mirviss welcomes new staff members
Tracy Causey-Jeffery, Gallery Director.

NEW YORK, NY.- Joan B. Mirviss Ltd. announced the arrival of three additions to the gallery team.

Tracy Causey-Jeffery, Gallery Director; Prior to running her on contemporary art gallery for twenty years, Tracy previously worked with major Asian art galleries in London and interned with the Chinese Works of Art department at Sothebys NY. She has curated numerous exhibitions, taught art history and authored many articles. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with dual majors in Oriental Studies and International Relations, she went on to study Mandarin in Taiwan and to receive a postgraduate certificate in Asian Art from the University of London SOAS/Sotheby's Institute joint program. Tracy's favorite area of study was/is ceramics and so she believes the directorship at Joan B. Mirviss to be a serendipitous move for her. When not working with or reading about Asian art, she practices a vegetarian lifestyle, avidly supports wildlife and environmental preservation, gardens, cooks with family and friends, attends the ballet, theater or musical performances, enjoys fine wines, serves as crew chief for her husband's endurance bicycling races and takes as many walks in nature as she can fit into her busy schedule.

Nicholas Merkelson, Registrar; joined the staff of Joan B. Mirviss Ltd. in March. Before arriving at the gallery, Nick worked in museums and institutions as a specialist in object cataloging, inventory control, and documentation for exhibitions and publication. He has managed collections at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, American Merchant Marine Museum, and Coe Hall Historic House, among others. He has also participated in archaeological excavations in Kenya and Spain, where he discovered a 50,000-year-old Neanderthal skull. Nicholas received a BA in religion and archaeology from Carleton College and completed his MA in cultural heritage studies from the University College London. In his personal life Nicholas is a seasoned traveler, a born-and-bred New York Islanders fan, and a passionate supporter of wildlife conservation.

Khai Tran, Gallery Administrator; previously worked at Deutsche Bank first as an intern and then as assistant to the senior curator of the bank's extensive corporate collection. Prior to the bank, he was employed by the Katonah Museum of Art. He has his BFA in painting and drawing from Purchase College. Khai is a Vietnamese-American painter living and working in Westchester. His work is inspired by fauvism, 90's era video game graphics, and cyber culture.
