DALLAS, TX.- A rare enamel dial Patek Philippe, Ref. 2526P, Calatrava wristwatch, a singular example in platinum with both the Patek Philippe and Tiffany & Co. signatures makes its auction debut in Heritage Auctions’ Watches & Fine Timepieces sale May 1 in New York.

Retailed in 1954, the fresh-to-market discovery increases the number of platinum 2526 watches with enameled dials to just six documented examples. The details make this quite possibly the rarest Patek Philippe Ref. 2526 ever offered at auction, said Jim Wolf, Director of Timepieces, who estimates the watch to sell for $300,000 or more.

A significant group of rare timepieces appearing at auction for the first time defines the sale. A stunning Jacob & Co, Astronomia Sky, 18k Rose Gold Sidereal Celestial Panorama Triple Axis Tourbillon, Ltd Ed. 06/18, Circa 2017 (est. $250,000+) made its celebrated debut in 2017, offers visual stimulation and three-dimensional celestial complication never offered before in a timepiece for the wrist. Founder Jacob Arabo partnered with complications specialist ATELIERS 7H38, which was founded by master watchmakers Luca Soprana and Christophe Naudin, to produce the movement based on their collaborative design. Unlike anything else, the movement utilizes a four arm carrier system that enables nearly every aspect of the watch to move at different rates and speeds. The other limited examples made of this timepiece have featured an orange sapphire for the moon, and this particular timepiece on offer showcases a Jacob cut diamond for this possibly unique example.

Considered by some to be the most desirable of contemporary Patek Philippe watches, this Patek Philippe, Ref. 5970J-001, Unused Double Sealed, Gold Chronograph With Perpetual Calendar, Moon Phases, Tachometer And 24 Hour Indication, Circa 2008 (est. $145,000+) was launched in 2004. Its relatively short production run of just seven years makes it a rarity in all four configurations: yellow, white and rose gold, and platinum. The increase case size of 40mm — 3mm larger than its predecessor, the Ref 5004 — and a dial that is balanced perfectly with the inclusion of a tachymeter scale, make the Ref 5970 one of the most in-demand modern watches. It is the last Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Chronograph powered by the legendary Lemania movement, which is visible through the exhibition case back. The yellow gold version offered here is considered the rarest and most desirable of this legendary reference.

This Jacob & Co, Brilliant Skeleton, Full Invisible Set Baguette Diamond and Ruby Manual Wind Wristwatch, Ltd Ed: 01/16, Circa 2016 (est. $125,000+), is highlighted as being No. 1 of a limited edition of just 16 individually numbered pieces made of this reference. This watch, which comes directly from a private collector, is an exceptional example of diamond and ruby invisible setting technique and watchmaking, and is accompanied by its original presentation box and documentation.

In this configuration, this fresh-to-market Rolex, Ref: 6239, "Paul Newman" Cosmograph Daytona, Circa 1969 (est. $100,000+)is the most original and authentic "Paul Newman" Daytona, the same variant owned and worn by its namesake. It features a tri-color reverse panda dial, pump pushers and polished steel bezel. Coming from the family of its original owner, it is being offered for the first time since it first was purchased nearly 50 years ago. This completely original and unmolested "Newman" Daytona is of rare quality and comes with its signed Rolex box.
