PHILADELPHIA, PA.- The Board of Directors of The Fabric Workshop and Museum named Maja Paumgarten as its new President at its Annual Meeting in June. Paumgarten’s term began July 1, 2018, and she succeeds Katherine Sokolnikoff. Jill Bonovitz has been named Vice President, succeeding Ann Loftus. “I am honored to assume the role of President of The Fabric Workshop and Museum,” says Paumgarten. “This is a unique organization, with its mission to share the working process of today’s most notable contemporary artists, exhibit their work, and provide much-needed arts opportunities to the community through its apprenticeships and education programs. I am eager to work closely with Executive Director Susan Talbott to move the institution forward.”

“Maja Paumgarten will make an outstanding President of The Fabric Workshop and Museum,” says FWM Executive Director Susan Lubowsky Talbott. “She has supported the institution as a Board Member for more than a decade, having served on the Executive and Governance Committees, and co-chaired the Education Advisory Committee. We look forward to her inspirational governance, as we thank outgoing President Katherine Sokolnikoff, whose long-time leadership of FWM has made a profound impact on the institution.”
