NEW BRAUNFELS, TX.- iGavel Auctions kicks off its Fall 2018 sales season with a series of three Asian art auctions: Asian Works of Art (Oct. 2-23), Chinese Jades and other Carvings (Oct. 9-22), and Fine Art and Antiques from Florida Estates (Oct. 10-25) - all open for online bidding. With over 1,000 works of art representing all the major cultures of Asia, the sales includes over 300 lots of jade, jadeite, and hardstone carvings dating from the Qianlong period and later; more than fifty Japanese prints from the collections of Dr. William Schull and Clyde Littlefield which will benefit four entities: the Schull Institute, Marquette University, The Historical Archives Center of Texas Medical Center Library, and the University of Texas. Rounding out the auctions are over one hundred Chinese and other Asian works from a Northwest Collector assembled prior to World War I.

Among the highlights of these blockbuster sales are a Fine Japanese Eight Panel Painted Paper Screen dating from the Edo Period estimated at $60,000-$90,000 and offered at no reserve; a Rare Cizhou Sgraffiato Vase, from the Song/ Yuan dynasties estimated at $70,000-$100,000; a Chinese Celadon Jade Boys Vase, estimated at $15,000-$25,000; a Set of Four Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain Panels, Republic Period, estimated at $50,000-$60,000; a Qi Bai Shi painting, Pink Wisteria, Ink on Paper, estimated at $25,000-$45,000; a Large Chinese Celadon Charger, from the Yuan or early Ming period, estimated at $2,000-$4,000; and more than 60 Chinese and other bronzes ranging from the Han dynasty to the 20th century.

Works from iGavel Auctions' Associates are featured throughout the auctions, with selections of works in jade and other hardstone carvings; over 80 bronze figures and vessels from the Han dynasty and later; a fine selection of paintings by Qi Bai Shi and other artists; six rhinoceros horn cups from the late Ming or early Qing dynasties complete with provenance dating back to the early 20th century; a Cloisonné Mounted Hardwood Long Table, estimated at $30,000-$50,000, and other fine works.

The sales were exhibited in part in New York during Asian Art week in September and are now on view in New York City by appointment during the month of October. The Lark Mason Associates' Texas gallery will feature a selection of works on exhibit from October 12-23 at their recently opened gallery in an historic German fachwerk house. Elder's Antiques' Florida exhibition is October 25th from noon-3PM.
