PARIS.- Christie’s France is welcomes back Antoine Lebouteiller as Head of the Impressionist and Modern Art department, effective December 3rd.

Antoine joined the firm in the Impressionist and Modern Art Department in 2009 in Paris and from March 2013, worked as a Specialist Business-Getter for Day and Work on Papers sales at Christie’s London. In 2014, he started working closely with Deputy Chairman Olivier Camu on the Art of the Surreal evening sales. Most recently, in 2017, Antoine was promoted to the Evening Sale team as Director Senior Specialist and was instrumental in the sale of the Claudel bronzes group which fetched record-breaking results in June 2018. In October 2018, Antoine was the Impressionist lead on the Unbreakable sale, a collaboration with the Post-War and Contemporary department, during which the Orsay Museum acquired an important Paul Gauguin ceramic. Furthermore, Antoine played a seminal role for acquisitions by international institutions over the last couple of years. Antoine is respected for his market knowledge, expertise and commercial acumen and this, combined with his international experience, will be a great asset to the Paris team. Antoine will also be the Head of Sale for the Works on Paper and Paris Avant-Garde auctions.

Antoine Lebouteiller: I am delighted to be back at the heart of the Paris market after almost six years spent at King Street. I am looking forward to joining the dynamic team already in place and to working on our upcoming sales in March during the exciting week of the Salon du Dessin and Drawing Now.

Antoine was born in 1982 and studied a double degree in Law and Art History at Panthéon-Sorbonne University. After obtaining his degrees, Antoine pursued his studies and obtained a Master in Business from the prestigious ESCP Europe Business school in Paris and London.

Next March, Christie’s France will hold two auctions, one dedicated to Impressionist and Modern Art and the other to Works on Paper for which Antoine will be in charge.
