Abigail Ross Goodman is the co-founder and Principal of Goodman Taft, a curatorial and advisory firm with a focus on post-war and contemporary art.

WINTER PARK, FLA.- The Cornell Fine Arts Museum announced that Abigail Ross Goodman, co-founder and Principal of Goodman Taft, has agreed to serve as Consulting Curator. Ms. Goodman has over 20 years of experience as a contemporary gallerist, independent curator and advisor. Prior to founding Goodman Taft, a curatorial and advisory firm with a focus on post-war and contemporary art, she was the owner/director of the Judi Rotenberg Gallery in Boston, where she built a dynamic program of emerging and established artists. Since 2010, she has collaborated on several exhibitions and public art-installations, including the 2012 deCordova Biennial at the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln, MA; a permanent sculptural installation by Alexandre da Cunha and a monumental mural by Raúl de Nieves.

Here at CFAM, Ms. Goodman co-curated the exhibitions Fractured Narratives: a strategy to engage (2014) and Time as Landscape: Inquiries of Art and Science (2018). Importantly, her contributions to Rollins include her role as the curator of the Alfond Collection of Contemporary Art since its inception in 2013, and as editor of its catalogs Art For Rollins, Volumes I-II, and co-editor of Volume III. "I could not be happier that Abigail has accepted a larger involvement with our museum. Her extraordinary expertise in contemporary art and her deep and thoughtful commitment to the Alfond Collection, and to teaching with art more generally, will help re-position our museum as we create the strategy for the next phase in CFAM's institutional history," states Bruce A. Beal Director Ena Heller. "I am delighted and honored to have this opportunity to collaborate ever more directly with Ena Heller and Gisela Carbonell as they continue to develop the rich platform for inquiry that CFAM offers students, faculty and their broader audience. I began my career as a student intern at a teaching museum, the Addison Gallery of American Art at Phillips Academy so this feels like home."

As Consulting Curator, Ms. Goodman will work closely with Dr. Heller and with the CFAM Curator, Dr. Gisela Carbonell, on strategic partnerships, curatorial planning, and as a member of the Museum's National Council, to be launched in 2019.
