SAN FRANCISCO, CA.- Turner Auctions + Appraisals is pleased to present the Felicia Michalski Collection of Decorative Arts on Sunday, February 10, 2019, at 10:30 am PST. Offering over 350 lots acquired over five decades, the sale features a wide array of decorative arts from America, Europe and Asia. Among the single items and groupings are bronze sculptures and marble busts; oil and watercolor paintings; art glass and pottery, including Lalique, Gallé, Rookwood, Weller and Roseville; porcelain and metal figures; brass letter openers; pitchers and jugs including Royal Doulton and Ridgway; scent and perfume bottles including Lalique; porcelain and enamel boxes; cigarette cases; mirrors and dresser brushes; framed portraits, plaques and portrait miniatures; several lamps and clocks; candleholders; bookends; inkwells; antique photographs with fine Syrian frames; vintage marbles; salt and pepper shakers; framed botanicals; handcrank sewing machines; several books and catalogs; and more.

There is also a wide selection of table and serving ware, including lots of Meissen Blue Onion, Wedgwood, Jasper Ware, and many of sterling silver. From Asia are snuff bottles, cloisonné pieces, cane and parasol handles, and incense burners; from China come silk embroideries, porcelain bowls and vases, moon flask jars, and a celadon planter; from Japan are Satsuma, carvings, netsuke and lacquer items. Several items from other collectors round out the sale.

Auction highlights include a Lalique goldfish vase, a Staunton Chessman set, Limoges chargers, sterling and enamel compacts and boxes; a carriage clock from Tiffany; a Favrile glass shade and desk sets from Tiffany Studios; and an oil portrait of Phoebe Hearst.

This is the final Felicia Michalski collection to go up for bid. Turner Auctions + Appraisals has been privileged to offer Mrs. Michalski's extensive collection of fine jewelry in four previous sales, which proved to be extremely popular with bidders.

Turner Auctions + Appraisals begins its online auction on Sunday, February 10, 2019, at 10:30 am PST; items in the sale are available for preview and bidding now. Here are some highlights of the upcoming sale:

Lot 10: Bronze Female Figure by Auguste Moreau, titled La Vague. Incised inscription on the side. Condition: Excellent. Height: 28.5". Estimate: $800-1,000.

Lot 98: Lalique Goldfish Vase. Vase with opalescent glass and green patina, decorated with swimming fish. Impressed R. Lalique. Condition: Excellent. Height: 6.75" / Diameter: 7.5". Estimate: $2,000-3,000.

Lot 75: A Hand-Painted Portrait of Daphne on a Fine German Porcelain Plate, elaborately framed. Artist: Gesetzlich Geschutzt. German porcelain mark with blue beehive. Size artwork: 10 1/2 inches diameter. Size frame: 31 inches high x 24 wide x 1 1/4 deep. Late 19th/early 20th century. Condition: Good. Estimate: $300-500.

Lot 291: Set of 12 Meurice Froment Service Plates. French, 19th Century. Condition: Excellent. Diameter: 10". Estimate: $1,0001,500.

Lot 38: Staunton Chessman, Complete 32- Piece Chess Set. Natural and Stained. Made by Staunton Chessman and retailed by Jaques of London. In its original leather and gilt tooled box. Condition: Remarkable considering its age. Height: 3.5" (pawn). Estimate: $1,0001,500.


Lot 114: Tiffany Studios Three Piece Desk Set, Bookend Pattern. Silvered Bronze. Pair of Blotter Ends, Inkwell, Tray. All are marked Tiffany Studios, New York. Condition: Excellent. Some wear from age. Height-2.5" Width: 3" / Depth: 3". Estimate: $800-1,200.

Lot 142: Pair of Pink Enameled Moon Flask Jars, each side painted with flowering trees and birds. The reverse painted with scene of warrior games. Chinese, 1st Half of the 20th Century. Condition: Excellent. Height: 15.5" / Width: 11" / Depth: 3.25". Estimate: $400-600.

Lot 99: Gallé Vase of a pale yellow ground with raised plum colored flowers and leaves. General condition is very fine, no damage. Height: 7.25" / Width: 4.75" / Depth: 4.75". Estimate: $200-400.

Lot 205: Portrait of Phoebe Hearst, Mother of William Randolph Hearst. Attributed to Orrin Peck (1860 - 1921). Size artwork: 32 inches diameter. Size frame: 36 inches diameter. Date: Early 20th century. Condition: Good, small chip to canvas. Painting has been re-framed from its original rectangular frame. Oil on canvas. Estimate: $2,000-4,000.

Lot 97: Tiffany & Co. Silver and Brass Carriage Clock with its original carrying case. Serial Number on the works, clock case and frame 19491. That number also appears on the underside of the carriage clock case. Estimate: $1,000-2,000.
