Veteran auction house executives form powerhouse partnership
Prior to founding Art Market Advisors in 2016, Warren Weitman was Chairman of the Americas of Sotheby’s, a position he held from 2000. He spearheaded and secured many of the major consignments and record setting sales for the auction house during his 38-year tenure at the firm.

NEW YORK, NY.- Deborah Schmidt Robinson, Warren P. Weitman, Jr., and Mitchell Zuckerman, veteran auction executives who helped to shape today’s global art and auction market, have announced the merger of Art Market Advisors with Lioness Art Partners, the boutique art and estate consulting firm, founded by Ms. Robinson.

In 2016, after nearly 40 years at Sotheby's, former colleagues Mitchell Zuckerman and Warren P. Weitman, Jr., launched the independent advisory company, Art Market Advisors, dedicated to guiding clients and their professional advisors in the complexities of the international art world and maximizing the value of their collections. Deborah Schmidt Robinson’s addition to the Art Market Advisors partnership rounds out the formidable combined 100+ years of knowledge and specialized experience the trio holds in the art and auction industry. Art Market Advisors offers business advisory services to sellers, buyers, and their professional advisors in selling, financing and planning for their collections in the global art market.

Art Market Advisors are objective transactional and financial experts who help clients in the sales process of consigning property to auction or through private sale. No other advisors in the industry have more direct, relevant hands-on experience in advising on the art transaction process than the new firm. Their background in the inner workings of the global art market and expertise in negotiating financial arrangements and hands-on guidance of the selling process, are unparalleled in the art world.

Through deep and long-term relationships Art Market Advisors hold in the industry, clients will gain access to a network of independent specialists with unrivaled expertise and a variety of art-related resources. The new partnership capitalizes on the combined experience and individual reputations of its partners for securing highly favorable financial terms for clients, implementing the most creative sales strategies and providing hands-on guidance of the sales process while providing exceptional personal service.
