MT. CRAWFORD, VA.- The Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates Spring Antiques, Fine & Decorative Arts Auction contains a wide selection of material and will include everything from fine art and rare timepieces to miniature lighting and estate jewelry. The large auction will take place over two days, Friday, April 26, 2019 and Saturday, April 27, 2019, with absentee, phone, internet, and in-house bidding available.

Friday’s session, beginning at 9:30 am, will start the weekend off with a bang and features the second half of the Barbara and Moe Tourison miniature lamp collection, and 18th-20th century American and European glass from the estate collection of Eugene and Charlene Sussel, Rockville, MD; plus others. Highlights include a rare Andrew Jackson/Franklin Pierce pattern White House spoon glass and wine rinser; an important Thomas Webb Chien Lung carved cameo vase; other fine European and American art glass, including examples by Tiffany, Galle, Daum Nancy, Durand, and Steuben; 18th and 19th century Continental glass; antique and modern paperweights, including examples by Baccarat, Clichy, and a variety of studio artists; studio glass; plus much more.

Saturday’s session, beginning at 9:30 am, should prove to be equally exciting and features property descended in the Carter family of Virginia; property from the estate of Betty W. Harshbarger, Mt. Solon, VA; the estate of Holton Rosenquist, Bradford, IL; an Ohio estate collection; the estate of Jean and Ivar Johnson, Vienna, VA; selections from the James B. Patrick estate, Staunton, VA; property deaccessioned by the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association, Mount Vernon, VA; plus others. The day’s various offerings consist of British and Continental furniture and accessories; paintings, prints, and statuary; Asian material of all types; a collection of Tiffany bronze and Tiffany retailed items; fine silver and jewelry; an exceptional collection of Buffalo pottery, including unique and extremely rare examples; 18th & 19th century ceramics; a collection of fine timepieces, including numerous carriage clocks, pocket watches, and table clocks; a collection of American silver-plate figural napkin rings; mid-century modern material; plus more. Highlights include a Niderviller porcelain vase-shaped annular clock; a French animated industrial clock modeled on a horizontal steam boiler; a Dale Chihuly original abstract painting; a Handel Egyptian table lamp with reverse-painted shade; a Kirk repousse seven-piece sterling tea and coffee service with matching tray; an impressive 7.58 ct emerald, diamond, and platinum ring; a fine Stickley china cabinet (c.1905); plus much more.

The complete catalogue for both days will be posted on the firm’s website around April 12 and will be available for absentee and live bidding through the Jeffrey S. Evans LIVE platform, as well as Live Auctioneers and Invaluable. All lots will be on public preview at the firm’s gallery located at 2177 Green Valley Ln., Mt. Crawford, VA on April 24th and 25th from 10 am to 6 pm daily, and on April 26th and 27th from 8 am until the last lot is sold on each day.
