Diamonds, Ceylon sapphires should spark top bids at Heritage Auctions' Spring Fine Jewelry Auction

DALLAS, TX.- Colorless and fancy colored diamonds, Ceylon sapphires and a dazzling array of gem set jewelry will be in high demand at Heritage Auctions' Spring Fine Jewelry Auction April 29 in Dallas, Texas.

The sale offers a beautifully curated selection of jewelry from fine designer brand names, a list that includes Cartier, DeBeers, David Webb, Tony Duquette, Tiffany and Van Cleef & Arpels. The event also includes an exceptional assemblage of rare gems, including Columbian Emeralds, Rubies and Spinels from Burma, Ceylon Sapphires and a Chameleon Diamond.

"We are very pleased to offer such a wide variety of richly hued jewels, many with vibrant spring colors," Heritage Auctions Senior Director of Fine Jewelry Jill Burgum said. "There is a balance of materials from the 1800s to present, with a strong emphasis on well-made and mid-century pieces, and it is exciting to see them come to the auction forefront."

An Art Deco Diamond, Platinum Ring (estimate: $100,000-150,000) is a breathtaking piece with a round-cornered rectangular modified brilliant-cut diamond weighing 4.00 carats, enhanced by European, full and single-cut diamonds with a combined weight of approximately 0.10 carat and set in platinum. The ring is accompanied by a CIA report that declares "E color, VVS2 clarity."

A stunning Ceylon Sapphire, Diamond, Palladium Ring (estimate: $70,000-90,000) boasts a massive cushion-shaped sapphire weighing a 22.24 carats, enhanced by baguette, full and single-cut diamonds with a combined weight of roughly 2.00 carats, and set in palladium. The ring is accompanied by a 2016 AGL report stating "Natural Corundum, Sapphire, Origin Ceylon (Sri Lanka), No Gemological Evidence of Heat."

A Ceylon Sapphire, Diamond, Platinum Ring (estimate: $60,000-80,000) is notable because of its rich color and also because of its impressive 10.67-carat octagonal step-cut sapphire, which is flanked by emerald-cut diamonds that weigh 1.03 and 1.05 carats, respectively. The stones are set in platinum, reaching a gross weight of 10.80 grams for the ring. An included AGL report states "Natural Corundum, Origin Ceylon (Sri Lanka), No Gemological Evidence of Heat, Clarity Enhancement None."

An imposing emerald that is the featured centerpiece of a Colombian Emerald, Diamond, Gold Pendant (estimate: $60,000-80,000) weighs in at 57.01 carats, is enhanced by full-cut diamonds with a combined weight of approximately 2.00 carats and is accompanied by a GIA report that states "Natural Beryl, Emerald, Origin Colombia, Clarity Enhanced (F2)."

Featuring a combined weight of nearly 104 carats of diamonds, a Diamond, White Gold Jewelry Suite, Adler (estimate: $60,000-80,000) includes a necklace featuring full-cut diamonds with a combined weight of 62.56 carats, a bracelet with full-cut diamonds weighting a total of 31.55 carats and a pair of earrings with 9.88 carats of full-cut diamonds. The diamonds on each are sent in 18k white gold, and marked Adler.

Another eye-catching sapphire is featured on a Ceylon Sapphire, Diamond, White Gold Ring (estimate: $60,000-80,000). The dominant stone is an emerald-cut sapphire weighing 18.08 carats, enhanced by pear-shaped diamonds weighing approximately 1.21 carats, complemented by 1.36 carats of full-cut diamonds and accented by round and pear-shaped sapphires with a combined weight of 2.17 carats. The jewels are set in 18k white gold, and the ring is accompanied by a GRS report declaring "Natural Sapphire, Origin Sri Lanka, No indications of Thermal Treatment."
