HONG KONG.- Sotheby’s will offer a prodigious privately-owned collection of almost every Supreme accessory ever produced in The Supreme Vault: 1998 - 2018. This online-only sale features a landmark archive interweaving luxury, art, and skate culture assembled by U.S. based collector Yukio Takahashi over 20 years.

Established in 1994, Supreme began as a skateboarding and fashion shop in downtown NYC and quickly grew into a global brand. This exceptional collection acts as a timeline, charting how the brand has successfully maneuvered into every facet of culture, including sports, music and design. This collection represents twenty years of accessories produced by Supreme, including the rare Stern Pinball machine, Everlast boxing series (including the heavy bag), Coleman Motorbike, and over one thousand other items ranging in price and rarity - all offered without reserve.

The archive is being offered in group lots and single lots with a total estimate in excess of HK$ 1.7 million / US$ 220,000. This online-only sale is open for bidding 20 May 10am HKT – 28 May 11am HKT, and highlights will be on exhibition at Hart Hall, H Queen’s in Central Hong Kong from 24-28 May.

Yukio Takahashi, owner of the collection, comments: “What makes Supreme’s accessories the most exciting part of their product line is its unpredictability, multifacetedness and genius choices in collaborations. I have enjoyed collecting Supreme for two decades and the process and result have both surpassed expectations. Now it is complete to the best of my knowledge and is at a good stopping place. Once Sotheby’s was mentioned, I recognised there would be no better way to sign off. Exemplified by their NIGOLDENEYE® sale, the capabilities of Sotheby’s are second to none.”

Noah Wunsch, Sotheby’s Global Head of e-Commerce, says: “Continuing the success of our Supreme skateboard decks sale earlier this year, we are thrilled to take it to the next level by bringing the most complete collection of Supreme accessories in private hands to auction. This is a testament to Sotheby’s dedication in catering to the ever-evolving collecting trends in global markets through offering an array of innovative online-only sales.”

Yuki Terase, Sotheby’s Head of Contemporary Art, Asia, adds: “We are delighted to offer this exceptional archive of Supreme accessories to the market as the brand celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. This is a special opportunity particularly for fans of Supreme in Asia, as many items in the collection were never previously available in the region. With over 1,300 items ranging in price and rarity, there is something for everyone in this milestone auction in the history of streetwear and skate culture.”

Highlights

Supreme x Stern Pinball Machine
Est: HK$ 400,000-600,000/ US$ 50,000-80,000

When Supreme looks to produce a new accessory, they often work with brand leaders in the relevant field. When deciding to release a pinball machine it was only right that they worked with Stern, the leading authority in pinball manufacturing. Featuring an entirely customised game and branding, this timeless classic produced by Supreme and Stern remains their most expensive retail item to date. With rumours of a tiny production run (unconfirmed between 100-200), there are very few of these in existence in private hands.

Supreme x Everlast Punching Bag
Est: HK$ 80,000-120,000/ US$ 10,000-15,000

Supreme founder James Jebbia has always been a boxing fan and the brand consistently shared images of the combat sport since 1997. The most ambitious Supreme/Everlast release to date is the S/S16 dual branded punch bag. Weighing 70lb, the leather heavy bag is decked out in signature box logo red with Supreme branding on either side and script reading “Lights Out” at the bottom. This item was only sold via Supreme’s official online site to avoid customers struggling to carry them out of the store. Due to the item’s scarcity, retail price and execution, this has now become one of the most sought-after Supreme products of all time.

Supreme x Coleman Mini Bike
Est: HK$ 50,000-70,000/ US$ 6,000-8,000

In 2017 Supreme teamed up with Coleman for an exclusive Mini Bike. The online-exclusive CT200U bike came dressed in Supreme Box Logo Red, with a 196cc one-cylinder four-stroke OHV engine, sturdy metal frame, 42-inch wheelbase, and a top speed of 24 mph. With an original retail price of $1,000 (before tax and shipping), the iconic bike sold-out instantly and has become a highly revered item in Supreme’s catalogue.
