PANZANO.- Panzano Arte is presenting the first edition of its art trail set in the heart of the Italian region of Chianti. It features sculptures by French artist Nathalie Decoster, who has been invited from June 22nd to September 18th 2019.

“The magical village of Panzano in Chianti between Florence and Sienna nestles amidst the rolling green and yellow hills of the Chianti region. This authentic village is also the starting point for a pebbled path that winds its way between rows of cypress trees and takes you to visit the region’s vineyards. What could possibly be better for an artist than to contribute to this dream with a selection of works that are both contemporary and humanist?” --Nathalie Decoster.

The world-renowned sculptor Nathalie Decoster explores the human condition through her art, creating a universal language all of her own.

The philosophy that lies at the heart of her work is grounded in our relationship with time and nature. Like a spiritual invitation, she makes us aware of the value of time; the time we give and the time we receive, the time that makes up the moments of our life itself. The title of her iconic sculpture Temps qui passe is the perfect illustration of her positive vision of the passing of time, a path that allows us to attain wisdom and serenity.

The human figure is an omnipresent feature in her work. It is her faithful messenger that represents each and every one of us: moving within geometric shapes, it provides the codes we need to enter a world of serenity.

Panzano Arte was created with the purpose of presenting art projects in the public space with works that bear witness to a modern form of humanism and which aim to deepen our understanding of cultural and spiritual questions, as well as those in relation to freedom, freethinking, human rights and the environment. Ever since the Renaissance, the village has enjoyed an international reputation as a bastion of artistic, spiritual and environmental values, accordingly Nathalie Decoster, whose modern and free approach is steeped in humanism, was an obvious choice as Panzano Arte’s first guest artist.

The art trail, comprising 25 mainly monumental sculptures and 3 very large format photos, sets off from the heart of the village and continues through bucolic landscapes, taking visitors to the 4 participating vineyards (Fontodi, Renzo Marinai, Tenuta Casenuove and La Massa), providing a unique opportunity to discover works of art and the region’s fine wines.

The exhibition runs until September 18th 2019 and is yet another reason for visitors from all over the world to come and discover the charms of Panzano. In addition to its beautiful landscapes and renowned organic wines, it’s also the chance to meet the project’s ambassador Dario Cecchini. The world famous so-called butcher-poet, who is known internationally for his philosophical and artistic outlook and the excellence of his gourmet restaurants, was also the subject of a recent episode of Netflix’s successful culinary documentary series “Chef’s Table”.

Coinciding with the event and adding to the overall experience, the annual organic wine festival that draws thousands of wine-lovers from all over the world will take place this year from September 12th15th 2019.

Thanks to the vitality of Panzano Arte, a veritable art trail has taken root in Tuscany and is ready to welcome Nathalie Decoster for its first edition. As the French artist so aptly observed: “Art is in the soul of the inhabitants of Panzano”.
