Hostler Burrows announces new gallery in Los Angeles
6819 Melrose Avenue.

NEW YORK, NY.- Hostler Burrows announced the opening of a second gallery space in Los Angeles in October 2019. Located at 6819 Melrose Avenue in a Hollywood neighborhood that is home to a number of notable design and art galleries, the spacious West Coast outpost is an ideal venue to present Hostler Burrow’s distinctive program of contemporary and vintage work.

Designed by architect Linda Taalman, the 3,000-square-foot-gallery features an open main space, with an additional project room in which a dynamic program of solo presentations and special exhibitions will take place. The building was constructed in 1928, during the same era of growth that saw the completion of City Hall and the Chinese Theater, and it has a rich history within the design scene.

"We are always exploring new opportunities to broaden the audience for our contemporary program, and this feels like a natural next step in the gallery’s development," states Juliet Burrows. Kim Hostler adds “A return to the West Coast has been a dream of mine for some time, and I could not be more excited for Hostler Burrows to be joining such a vibrant community of galleries in Los Angeles."

This new location brings Kim Hostler and Juliet Burrows back to Hostler’s roots in Los Angeles, where she opened a gallery in 1989. Hostler Burrows is thrilled to expand its program to the West Coast, further enhancing its long-time connection to the California design community.

The gallery will have a soft opening in October 2019, with plans for a full roster of programming including a featured exhibition in February 2020 in conjunction with Frieze LA.
