NEW YORK, NY.- On November 13, Bonhams sale of Post-War & Contemporary Art will bring together an exciting array of forty-six works by celebrated artists such as Keith Haring, Helen Frankenthaler, Wifredo Lam, George Condo, Sam Francis, Louise Nevelson, among others. This sale is also highlighted by Works from the Estate of Arnold Kopelson, which includes five works from artists such as Hans Hofmann, Eric Fischl, Willem de Kooning, and Larry Rivers.

As was previously announced, Bonhams will offer Keith Haring’s Untitled (The Church of the Ascension Grace House Mural), the first Haring mural ever to come to auction. The monumental 85ft mural was painted circa 1983/1984 in the stairwell of Grace House, a former convent and home of the Catholic Youth Organization in Upper Manhattan. It has an estimate of $3-5 million.

Other key highlights in this sale are Helen Frankenthaler’s Mica, 1981, an extraordinary example of Frankenthaler's groundbreaking soak-stain technique from her mature period of the 1980s and having remained in the same private collection since 1994 (estimate: $400,000-600,000); and Sans Titre, a masterwork by Wilfredo Lam (estimate: $700,000-900,000). Bold in its composition, with striking shapes and imagery, a figure that can best be described as part human, with a touch of flora and fauna. Born in Cuba to a Chinese immigrant father and a Cuban mother of African and Spanish heritage, Lam's global cultural background deeply influenced his style.
