MUNICH.- Whether in colors or in black and white, horizontal or vertical, in strictly geometrical order or in playful waves: Stripes are incredibly versatile. Thats also what international stars like Damien Hirst, Mel Ramos and Günther Uecker see in them. Ketterer Kunst has compiled around 60 Stripe Works by renowned artists for an exclusive online only auction. They will be up for auction on
www.ketterer-internet-auctions.com between January 15 and February 15, 3 pm some of them with estimate prices starting at 1.
In this theme auction Mel Ramos Molly in her zebra-striped outfit in front of a shiny golden background is all for stripes from head to toe, while Damien Hirsts two silkscreens Colour Chart and Colour Chart (Glitter) from 2017 render homage to the color stripe by stripe.
Apart from stripes, other geometric forms have also found their way into one or the other work. While triangular sails enrich Lyonel Feiningers woodcut Ketsch mit Stern, lines that form circles are characteristic of Jime Dines sparkling blaze of colors Olympic Robe from 1988. Along with yellow and red stripes, stars and arrows make for a gaudy array in Joan Mirós Chemin de Ronde II.
The jolly and illustrious array of offers is completed by, among others, works by fascinating artists like Max Ackermann, Horst Antes, Eduard Bargheer, Max Bill, Karl Fred Dahmen, Hugo Demartini, Walter Dexel, Piero Dorazio, Günther Förg, Rupprecht Geiger, Werner Gilles, Imi Knoebel, Yayoi Kusama, Heinz Mack, Gerhard Richter, Bridget Riley, Jan Schoonhoven, Tom Wesselmann, Fritz Winter and Herbert Zangs.
